Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will my kimono be unique?
    • I will only make one kimono of any single printed fabric. (except by special request to make matching garments)
    • If you order "plain green" kimono with no pattern, it will not be necessarily unique.
    • If the kimono is based on historical, anime, or art, it will not be necessarily unique (e.g. If two people wanted a Haori like Tenchi the anime)

  • Can you make it out of another kind of fabric?
    • Most probably, yes. I prefer 100% cotton or silk, but I have used many other fabrics to achieve certain looks/effects.

  • Do you have any already-made kimonos?
    • I intend to work mostly on a custom basis: the order comes in and then I make the kimono. I may have an extra or two that I could sell if you are in an extreme hurry (Most probably made for myself or my husband).

  • How long will it take?
    • I process orders first in first made. Depending on workload, time could vary from 1 week to a couple of months. Be sure to give me as much time as you can if you need the garment for a particular date (especially Origins, GENcon, or Christmas).

  • How does payment work?
    • I need half the cost of the garment before I start work, to cover the cost of purchasing materials.
    • The remainder of the cost plus the shipping cost will be collected after the garment is completed but before it is shipped to you.
    • I accept Paypal, Check, or Money Order

  • How much will shipping be?
    • Shipping is based on the weight and where it is being shipped to.
    • Since most garments are one-of-a-kind creations, I always try to use an insured shipping option.
    • Depending on the type of fabric, size of garment, and zip code, shipping is usually from $8-$10.
